After Nose Aesthetics Surgery

  • Because the operation is performed with general anesthesia, you will not feel much pain for about the first 6 hours because of painkillers performed during the operation.
  • It is recommended that you stay in hospital for 1 night after surgery. Patients who do not want to stay at hospital may be discharged on the same day, on condition that the patient is in good condition, of course if the physician approves.
  • Most of the time I do not use a nose pad, if necessaryif necessary, I use a pair of small leaf-shaped thin materials made of soft silicone which can easily enter and exit the nose. These materials also have air ducts that allow you to breathe. It provides maximum comfort to the patient. I remove nasal bumpers on day 2 or 3. During the removal of the buffer, the patient does not suffer any pain.

  • Swelling and bruising are closely related to the patient’s tissue structure. Every patient’s nose is unique. The surgical method I apply is unique to the person. So there will be little or some swelling and bruising. The swelling starts on the 2nd day after the surgery and disappears at the 5th day.
  • I use a thermoplastic external nasal splint instead of classical plaster after surgery (to protect nose, maintain what is done and reduce swelling).
  • After the operation, the patient may return to work on the 2nd day, but my advice is to take one week for the surgery and start on the 7th day.
  • Bathing can be done with warm water on the second day of surgery. Very hot bath or hot environments are not recommended on the first week. The use of the sauna may be appropriate after 1 month.
  • Plastic plaster outside the nose is removed on days 5-7.
  • Sun should be avoided as much as possible. Sun rays can cause color changes associated with the skin structure of patients. After 3-6 months, sunbathing is possible with precautions against sun.
  • Hats or sunscreen creams may be recommended after the operation.
  • I do not recommend solarium for 1 month beforesurgery and for 6 months after surgery.
  • Sunglasses (light and short term) may be worn after 1 month.
  • Lenses should be preferred instead of glasses.
  • Vehicle usage is suitable .after2 days and every journey is suitable after 7 days. If at the first week airplane travel shall be made, it should be consulted to the doctor.
  • At the first week you should avoid all kinds of impacts to the nose. I suggest you sleep in a half-seat position for the first 2-3 days. I suggest you avoid bending your head forward and avoiding excessive physical activity.
  • Alcohol can be consumed after 2-4 days, smoking after 1 month of (bad habits certainly are not recommended).
  • There may be sutures that melt spontaneously within the nose. Do not interfere yourself in a situation that disturbs you, please contact me.
  • I do not recommend swimming in the first week. Then you can swim on the condition that you do not jump from high.

Post-operative control;

  • I remove intra-nasal tampons after 2-3 days (if there is no specialsituation specific to patient requiring otherwise).
  • I remove nose plaster after 5-7 days; I tape it back with special tapes after I’ve evaluated the nose.
  • After 10.days, 20.days, and at 2ö months, I see the patient again and assess the inside and outside of the nose.
