How is eyelash transplantation performed?

In this application which lasts about two hours, a piece of skin with 30-50 single hairs is taken from the back of the neck and sown at the bottom of the eyelashes under local anesthesia.

In the first two to three weeks, these planted eyelashes fall out and then come out again. They need to be cut periodically, as new eyelashes, which still think themselves as hair, grow. The ideal candidates for eyelash transplantation are straight hair.
